Roofing and Window Replacement Project: Wheaton, IL
Harris Roofing, Siding, Windows & Doors recently completed a major exterior upgrade for the Greatix family in Wheaton, IL. The family contacted us for help with their aging roof, which had developed a leak, and window replacements throughout their home.
For the roof replacement, we began with a complete tear-off down to the roof decking. To ensure long-lasting protection, we installed Ice & Water Shield 72 inches up the roof eaves and 36 inches into the valleys, followed by Rhino synthetic felt for additional durability. The roof was finished with Owens Corning Duration Williamsburg Gray architectural laminate shingles, giving the home a sleek and modern appearance. To complement the new roof, we also replaced the gutters and downspouts with 5-inch K-style seamless aluminum gutters and oversized 3” x 4” downspouts. Additionally, we upgraded two old skylights with Velux skylights, enhancing natural light in the home.
The project didn’t stop there. The Greatix family also wanted to improve energy efficiency and comfort throughout their home, so we installed 27 new Sierra Pacific vinyl windows. This full-frame window replacement included new extension jambs and pre-finished white casing on the interior, ensuring a clean, polished look inside. We wrapped the windows on the exterior with an aluminum coil, creating a low-maintenance and durable solution that will look great for years to come.
